Company History
It was company chairman Ken Hitchen who laid the foundations for
commercial success, but he is quick to give credit to other members of
his close nit family for their contributions to making Trevors
Warehouses one of the leading catering supply companies in the North
West. "It would not have progressed so far without family" says Ken.
His wife Heather recently relinquished her position as company
secretary in favour of their daughter Mrs Dianne Whitehead and together
they take care of all the quality control and administrative paper
work. While their son Gary who is now managing director has control of
the catering side of the business. Son in law Jason and daughter in law
Samantha also play important roles in the firm.
A Family Business
While Ken heads the overall direction of the firm from the Head
office Ribble Road Supermarket store, the other members of the family
are directors of the company, and hold key positions. They are located
on Chorley Road (off Mowbray Drive), which is also the base of the team
of experienced sales representatives and around 20 drivers, warehouse
staff and office staff. The 16,000 square foot warehouse and offices
stand in an acre of land and was acquired in January 2002 as a result
of the need to expand the product range and services. After a great
deal of renovation to the former meat processing factory, deliveries
commenced from the new premises in March 2002. Recently substantial
investments have been made in expanding the office suite and telesales
facilities, as well as fully updating the companies computer systems
